Emergency Housing Overview
The Princeton Housing Authority (PHA) frequently
recieves requests for emergency housing. Often people looking for emergency
housing are homeless, about to be homeless or living in severely substandard
housing. Unfortunately, the PHA does not provide emergency housing.
If someone needs immediate relief from their current housing situation, the PHA
is generally not your first stop.
Once a family or individual completes an application
for housing, and is determined eligible, the individual or family will be
placed on our waiting list. Depending on the size apartment the
individual/family needs, the wait can be anywhere from six months to over five
years.
